About

My Commitment to Empowering Mothers

DSC_0007.jpg

I’m Ginnie Grantham, a Registered Nurse and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). With over a decade of experience in women’s healthcare, I have developed a passion for helping mothers navigate the challenges of breastfeeding.

After having my first child, I truly understood how vulnerable the postpartum journey can be. I wish I had sought more support with breastfeeding and postpartum depression rather than trying to navigate them alone. Thankfully, I was much kinder to myself with baby #3.

My mission is to listen to your feeding goals and create a plan tailored to your unique lifestyle and needs. I approach every client with respect, kindness, and collaboration, because I believe your goals matter most. Together, we can make your breastfeeding journey a fulfilling and empowering experience.

Why Work with an IBCLC?

"After being discharged with my precious baby girl (after 8 days in the NICU), and being a first-time mom, I was feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, and ready to abandon my breast-feeding plan. My mom encouraged me to schedule a consultation with Ginnie. What a great decision that was! Ginnie was patient, knowledgeable, and encouraging which helped me feel comfortable during my in-home consultation. She helped me come up with a plan that worked for my schedule and gave me the confidence and skills I needed to persevere. I am still successfully breast-feeding, pumping, and occasionally formula feeding, and my baby is about to be five months!! Ginnie was a Godsend."

Sydney O.

"I fully believe that even if you go into your breastfeeding journey with all the determination in the world you still need a support system and a lactation consultant. Ginnie was both of those things for me. She was pivotal in my journey with my first baby and she even continued helping me and encouraging me with my second and third baby after she had moved. She was informative, kind, encouraging and always made me feel like I could do it. She never pressured me but always uplifted me and helped empower me as a Mama. No question was too small and she always made me feel comfortable and confident. I always say I couldn’t have done it without her.  I would recommend her over and over! "

Kendyl M.

"I cannot recommend Ginnie  enough as a lactation consultant! She exudes warmth, professionalism, and understanding. Her depth of knowledge and practical advice made such a difference in my breastfeeding journey. Ginnie went above and beyond to tailor her guidance to my unique situation, providing both emotional support and actionable solutions.

Without her support, I couldn’t have met my goal to breastfeed at least a year. Her patience and encouragement turned what initially felt like an overwhelming challenge into a manageable and empowering experience. Thanks to her, I not only gained confidence but also formed a stronger bond with my baby. If you're looking for someone who truly cares and has the expertise to help, Ginnie is the best choice!"

  • I offer home and telehealth visits, based on insurance approval.

Prenatal visits provide education to empower you to be successful with breastfeeding early on.
We will discuss your feeding goals and tailor a plan to help you achieve them, as well as
providing education regarding what to expect in the early days with milk supply, possible
challenges, etc. We will also discuss breast pumps and what may be the best option for you as
well as measure you for a proper flange size to maximize milk output.

Postpartum/newborn visits provide feeding assessments and address questions and
concerns you may be having. These concerns may include low milk supply, slow weight gain,
painful latch, preterm baby struggling to stay awake, pumping concerns, breastfeeding
multiples, or simply a need for reassurance that everything is going well.

Back to work consults address concerns you may be having about returning to work and
keeping your supply up. It is also important to know your pumping rights under the law and be
confident with storing your milk at work. You may have questions about how much milk baby will
take at home or how you will juggle everything. This consult is to help you feel as comfortable
as possible with continuing your breastfeeding journey when you have to spend time apart from
    your baby.

  • If you are having breastfeeding issues such as painful latch, low supply, or baby is not gaining
weight, the sooner you can be assessed by an IBCLC the better! An initial visit will include a
thorough health history of mother and baby and a breastfeeding assessment that may include a

pre-feed and post-feed weight to determine how much milk baby is able to transfer. A care plan
will be tailored to address all concerns. Follow-up visits are also recommended if needed.

  • A telehealth visit will include a thorough health history review and will address any concerns or
questions the parents may have. A telehealth visit can also be done to get prenatal education or
preparing to go back to work to set yourself up for success in establishing and/or maintaining
    your milk supply!

  • At this time, I am only set up to see patients approved through The Lactation Network or
Wildflower Health. I hope to expand in the future to see more. I am happy to try to refer you to
another qualified IBCLC if I am not able to see you. It is very important to me that everyone gets
the postpartum support they deserve to be successful.
